Job Description

  • Manage multi-disciplined, cross-departmental development teams and regularly monitor project and BOM (Bill of Materials) costs, schedule and priorities
  • Provide clear and timely communication to the team regarding project goals and milestones. Work with the team to ensure design documents and action items are reviewed and completed in-line with expected delivery dates
  • Understand the critical path(s) and dependencies and manage potential risks as far in advance as possible. Escalate issues early in order to give the project maximum opportunity to problem solve or pivot
  • Utilize Agile methodology and Scrum tools to support sprint planning, daily standups, and sprint reviews
  • Work with Project Management to create and maintain project schedules, provide visibility to project data, highlight key dependencies, and reduce churn by facilitating decision-making, managing budgets, measuring performance
  • Work with Product Management to understand product requirements and ensure that design goals are met
  • Work with Engineering and Manufacturing to develop accurate bills-of-materials, establish product costs, identify long-lead components, and ensure a successful transition from design to manufacturing
  • Provide clear reporting, as needed, including attending a bi-weekly meeting with the executive staff to review the project and related business case status
  • Ensure Major Milestones are understood by all of the cross-functional teams and appropriately tracked
  • Focus on best outcomes.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years experience as a Project Manager or Engineer in a hardware product development environment
  • Experience creating an effective team environment, building strong relationships, negotiation, solving problems, resolving conflicts, and managing resources in a matrix environment.
  • Experience working with Asian suppliers a plus
  • Experience developing audio products a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with technical development teams as well as executive-level personnel
  • Hands-on management approach with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
  • Ability to evaluate situations, make difficult decisions, and act in a proactive manner
  • Strong interpersonal skills that instill trust, respect, and high personal work standards
  • Fluent in Agile, Microsoft Project and Office Applications
  • Ability to travel internationally
  • Knowledge of Asian language (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) and culture a plus
  • Musical/guitar background a plus
